the canyons of the rainbow mountain wilderness harbor an incredible number of beautiful multi-pitch trad and hybrid routes, as well as some hard, single-pitch trad lines, all on the area’s iconic, red and gold, Aztec sandstone.
on this particular trip, michael and i made quick work of Only the Good Die Young (4 pitches, 5.11b/c) one morning, and then i returned another day to work Desert Gold (5.13a) through some lead rope solo and top-rope solo shenanigans
